Planning is well underway for the Machestic Dragons’ 13th Annual Dragon Boat Festival, “Paddle for Pink” on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at Mercer County Park Lake, West Windsor, NJ.
Paddle for Pink is an exciting event hosting about 50 dragon boat teams (each with 20 paddlers) racing on Mercer County Lake. This community-based event celebrates breast cancer survivors and funds raised are donated to local programs that provide free services to breast cancer patients.
Volunteers are the key to making this event a success. Help is needed with various activities throughout the day: parking, set up and break-down, dock hands, drummers, and more! You can help for a few hours, a half day or the entire day. Prior to race day, you will receive detailed information about your assignment, what you need to bring and what we will provide!
Volunteers who come out to work have a lot of fun! We welcome volunteers ages 12 and up, (including scouts or church group, etc.), although dock helpers are age 16 and up.
Community service hour certificates will be provided upon request for students volunteering.
We collect volunteer info now and will make final assignments in late May.

We Need You!
Help us support breast cancer survivors and their families!
Parking Personnel: Early birds needed at 6:00 AM to work a 2 1/2 hour shift until 8:30 assisting in the parking operation.
Marshalling: Assist checking wrist bands of teams in the chutes leading to the docks.
Dock hands: Help team members in and out of dragon boats on the docks. Must be able to bend and squat and minimum age of 16.
Drummers: Drummers are needed for community dragon boat teams throughout the race day (8:00 to 4:30), keeping the stroking cadence by drumming at the bow of the dragon boat.. Simple training is provided at a practice prior to Paddle for Pink. Age 12 and up.
Runners: Help needed throughout the day selling merchandise, raffle tickets, staffing the Information Booth and more!
Break-down: At the conclusion of our day (approximately 4:00 pm), help needed breaking down tents, tables and re-packing merchandise. Must be able to lift 20 pounds.
